Description
By Andrés Vázquez de Prada
The second volume of the three-volume biography of St Josemaría, covering the years from the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 to his departure for Rome in 1946. It recounts his secret priestly work under anti-Catholic persecution in Republican Spain, where he risked execution, his dangerous crossing of the Pyrenees to the Nationalist zone, and his efforts to counter slanders that threatened Opus Dei in those years. This was one of the most remarkable periods of his life.
